Today we’re proud to release 🚀 yet another set of frequently requested features. DevScanr now supports multiple locations in talent search filters. Since today you can filter, e.g, by two or more countries (within your access plan) instead of going over them sequentially. There’re also an option to exclude locations and an option to search in available talent pool.
1. Multi-Locations
Any non-ambiguous combination is supported and it’s hard to even list all possible applications of these features. There’s nothing you couldn’t do previously – but manually and much slower. So the key benefit here is your search performance. You can pick any one and, as far as the number of results does not exceed 25K, you’ll get the results.
The limit to number of results is technical, dynamic sorting of profiles is one of the slowest operations so far. We plan to revisit this in future, as we improve our algorithms and the infrastructure.
2. Excluded Locations
In the same spirit as above, you can now exclude talent from certain locations, and there can be more than a single exclusion. A common use-case would be to exclude a country capital – if you’re looking for remote or less expensive specialists. The key benefit of the feature remains the same – faster and easier search.
Exclusions should be narrower than inclusions, for example, included “Hamburg” with excluded “Germany” is not possible to interpret so we don’t. The number of allowed inclusions/exclusions is currently limited to 5, for no particular reason besides keeping the UI clean, – it will likely be revisited in future.
3. Optional Filters
One more related functional change is that all filters are now optional. You can add a single job criterion you find important, and it’s good to go. As long as the number of results does not exceed 25K, you’ll get the results. That’s handy when you need someone with rare skills or their combinations, hence you would like to search over the entire pool.
What’s next?
Apart from public-facing features, we are currently updating our tech stack to ensure the platform keeps being performant and reliable. Yet be prepared for more nice features and useful updates to be announced soon. Thank you for your time and interest, best wishes from the DevScanr team!
